Using IBM Watson, here is a Personality Portrait based on three of my recent blog posts using artificial intelligence and natural language processing:

Summary
You are heartfelt, somewhat insensitive and skeptical.
You are solemn: you are generally serious and do not joke much. You are independent: you have a strong desire to have time to yourself. And you are philosophical: you are open to and intrigued by new ideas and love to explore them.
Your choices are driven by a desire for discovery.
You are relatively unconcerned with both tradition and achieving success. You care more about making your own path than following what others have done. And you make decisions with little regard for how they show off your talents.

Not bad, but certainly not a glowing endorsement either.

But here is the question: If I was applying for a position, should it be factored into a hiring decision?

How about if it was based on my last 50 posts?

How about if it was based on my last 200 posts and my last 5000 tweets, which—at least in theory—are all publicly available?

When we physicians post on any social media, we should assume our content will be there forever.

We should also assume this content can be analyzed, using AI-enabled technology, to assess our personality by a third party at a trivial cost.
