I’ve decided to adopt a hashtag for my blog posts for use on Twitter: #MatthewsBlog.
The reason is simple. I always have a hard time with wording at the beginning of the tweets of my blog posts. “In today’s blog,” ”Today I am blogging about,” “In my blog today,” etc. I’ve used them all.
I’ve had no consistency.
But now I can start every tweet about my daily posts with “In #MatthewsBlog…” which—apart from being a more efficient way to tweet about my blog—also gives me a quick way in the future to search my tweets about my blog posts.
Heck, I like this idea so much I may even change the heading on my website’s blog page from “Blog” to “Matthew’s Blog.” This is what Seth Godin does with his blog stream—which he calls “Seth’s Blog” (I believe this makes his blog more personal). And when it comes to blogging, Godin is a master craftsman; who better to emulate?
Anyway, it should be a nice experiment. I will know after tweeting my next hundred or so blog posts!
