One of my favorite writing spots within my home is my kitchen counter.

It has a very comfortable swivel chair and a nice long flat granite countertop with minimal visual distractions.

It’s also in the central location of our condo, which makes it feel less isolating than my desk space.

Interestingly, it seems to work very well for iPad writing, especially when I use my writing software, Ulysses.

And for short content—such as this blog post—it might even by my most efficient place to write.

Anyway, I find careful consideration of the relationship between writing devices and writing places is a useful exercise. I don’t ever want to be too rigid in when and where I write, but it’s also valuable to have a couple of “go-to” places on typical days.
