One advantage of blogging daily is that just by sheer volume, I may hit pay dirt, at the end of each month I enjoy reviewing my 30ish blog posts to see where my intellectual shovel may have hit.
In February, the choice is easy. My most important blog was “ΨMorality”, And Why Corporations Are Like The Gods, which I posted on the 8th of February.
My deep project—and why I blog—revolves around understanding the role advanced digital technologies, such as AI and Big Data, are being used in healthcare and how these technologies are impacting our humanity. (I contend many of these tools are necessarily dehumanizing, which has broad implications for nearly everyone.)
And what ( not “who”) is driving the accelerating use of these digital tools?
Corporations. Not people. Not CEOs. Not IT wizards. Not physicians. And certainly not patients.
Corporations that have ethics which is different from human ethics—something I refer to as a pseudo-Morality or a Ψ-Morality.
Anyway, I think this is a deep, big idea. An idea that requires more definition and development over the next few years, especially in regards to how these Ψ-morals interact with AI and Big Data.
We will see where it goes!
