Years ago, at my old healthcare organization, I watched and took notes on all of its 457 YouTube videos in preparation for a strategic marketing meeting about social media

I did this for two reasons. First, to get a feel for my organization’s social media culture. And second, to know—not speculate—on how my organization approaches video creation.

Effectively, I knew I would be the one person in the meeting who had watched all of our organization’s YouTube videos and thought about how each one did (or didn’t) overlap with my organization’s healthcare mission.

Consistency and volume do matter.

Well, it’s now December 31st, and I have posted a new blog post every day for the past year.

That’s 365 days of consistent writing and publishing, so now I know—rather than just speculate about—what a consistent daily blogging practice for one year requires.

It’s not my biggest achievement of 2021. But it is one I am proud of, and one I can build upon for my much larger 2022 writing goals.
