Step 1:
Take 50 black and white photographs of Mother Nature, then carefully edit. Check ✔︎.
Step 2:
Write 50 haikus based on each photo.
25 down, 25 to go. 50% checked ✔︎.
(Who can possibly forget my Leaves And Fractals Haiku, the breathtaking Sea Bubbles Haiku, and of course, the unforgettable Turtle Log Haiku?)
Step 3:
Using iMovie, splice together all fifty photos, fading the title and haiku text in, then out, giving the viewer time to contemplate the beauty of the photograph and the essence of the haiku (estimate: 1-minute per haiku).
Step 4:
Add soundtrack with an emphasis on “zen-like” water and wind sounds.
Step 5:
Title this “My Haiku Movie”, add 1-minute of appropriate credits, then create a final 60-minute .mov file.
Step 6:
Setup MyHaikuMovie.mov on Apple TV.
Step 7 ( the “wife torture” step!):
Have your wife sit down and watch the entire 60-minute haiku movie!
On a serious note, having someone unequivocally supporting you when you step outside your comfort zone is one of the greatest gifts imaginable.
Recognize that person, tell them you love ♡ them every day, and never-ever take them for granted!
