I took the photograph above about a year ago on what I thought was an abandoned railroad bridge.
However, about 2 minutes after taking this picture, a train came from behind me, crossing the bridge!
If I had still been on the bridge, and if I hadn’t seen or heard that train coming, the risk of injury or death would have been very high.
I do believe in taking risks—but I don’t believe in being foolish.
If you are trying to create something on a railroad bridge that you think is abandoned (this could be a physical bridge or a metaphorical one), rethink your assumptions—and periodically turn around.
