I find the creative relationship between some of my blog posts and photography interesting.
For example, in the blue heart photo, used in the post A Flaw in NLP-Enabled EHRs?, I am using the stone’s central scratch to highlight the concept of a flaw.
In the chain photo, used in the post Healthcare CEOs: Don’t Let Your Physicians Retire Without a Fight , I am trying to visually indicate the importance of healthcare institutions hanging on to their most valuable asset: experienced physicians.
In the pearl photo, used in the blog post Health Isn’t Precious, I am using the visual contrast between can opener and pearls to highlight the contrast between something functional and something precious.
Finally, in the blueberry photo, used in the blog post How My Photography Journey Informs My Philosophy Journey , I am using the act of photography itself to highlight the need to create and take action rather than just consume.
Anyway, it’s hard to say if (and how) my photography informs my blog writing, or if (and how) my blog writing informs my photography. I don’t think it’s causal—a Point A to Point B type thing; rather it’s something more fluid. Regardless, for me there is a creative relationship, and one I will continue to tap.
