This week I have started a new photography class through a local college: Phone Photography Composition.
It’s a two-hour-a-week Zoom class, with extensive use of a Flickr Group (in which we discuss and post our photos and have discussions with the instructor and the other students).
Although it’s not my primary creative focus (that’s writing), it does offer several benefits for me:
- It will help me dive more deeply into my new iPhone 13 Pro Max capabilities, one of my important digital tools.
- It will allow me to create more content for my digital platform.
- It gets me physically outside with a creative mindset.
- It can be a tool for documenting writing ideas I may have.
- It expands my platform with other creatives.
- It will help me improve my digital photo editing knowledge.
- It improves my storytelling capability.
- It’s simply just fun.
I am very selective of my time commitments, but this checks so many boxes it is a no-brainer creative activity.
