Today is my 100th consecutive day of blogging and posting!
Here are some thoughts on this experience.
It hasn’t been all that difficult to blog and write daily. Most of my posts are small and light.
The two key disciplines I have needed to blog daily are to have a running list of blog ideas written down (as of today I have 144 “Blog Topics” ready to go!), and to always have a few fully edited blog posts in the can.
My blog has been principally a way for me to quickly try out ideas for larger writing projects I am working on. I feel writing helps me clarify things. Although by not having a narrowly focused blogging niche my blog is weakened in terms of attracting an audience, my goal, for now, is not to create a large audience. Rather my goal is to establish myself in my mind as a writer and to have a writing lab to play with ideas. In that sense, this blog has been quite a success.
I enjoy occasionally using some of my photographs. it helps justify some of the time I spend on my artistic outlet of black and white photography.
Although as I mentioned before, most of my blogs are “light” (such as this one), there are several which I believe are very big ideas warranting substantial future development. For example, in my blog post Is Healthcare Really a Service Industry? I am developing the point that we are inevitably moving towards healthcare as principally a data industry, not a people industry. And my current project of working through the various types of definitions and applying them to the definition of health—something which I don’t believe has been done—has applications within the area of AI and healthcare.
So, in summary, my daily blogging experience has been quite enjoyable, and my goal of posting a blog every day–barring unforeseen circumstances—seems well within reach.
