Natural disasters – even Tsunamis – from Mother Natures perspective are not such bad thing.
Tsunamis may help regain beach diversity, and just think : No volcanos = No Hawaii!
Now, if you are living on a human time scale , and living on a beach – hmmm, that is a different story.
To you, tsunamis are devastating.
Well, guess what. If you are in Healthcare, then you had better start preparing, because the earthquake precipitated by high speed and large data storage microchips has unleashed a Digital Tsunami, and the wave is on the way.
This wave includes wavelets called Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, BlockChain, Internet of Things, The Semantic Web, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality, all getting ready to combine to hit your healthcare beach in the very near future.
On the upside, 20, 30, or 40 years from now we are likely going to have a much stronger, more diverse healthcare system.
On the downside, there are going to be a lot of healthcare system causalities on the way.
So what is there to do?
Well, if you can swim, have a life jacket, or can build a raft, you are going to have a better chance to survive a tsunami.
Now is the time for healthcare employees – especially physicians ,who have some of the best insights into the human condition of medicine – to learn and engage with the technologies as much as possible.
Knowledge is your raft, but once the tsunami hits, its going to be to late to build one.
