My cat, Roo, finds delight in the simplest of things: a peacock feather, a thrown Temptation, a little bit of grass, a box to sleep in, and a cat tree to jump from.

Now, for me, the foundation of a life well-lived means a life of purpose, a life of meaning. But embedded within this solid foundation their has to moments of delight—analogous to veins of pure gold projecting into a mountain.

And my one of my deepest veins of delight?

It’s the simple act of engaging with my little Roo every day—speaking with him, listening to him, hugging him, stroking him, and, really, just plain loving him.
