I heard an interesting question raised by the Irish poet and philosopher John O’Donohue: How does the Earth see you?

You see, we (humans) spend all of our time asking questions about the various ways in which the planet can provide for us. It’s all about how we see the Earth: as the stuff of natural resources, as a protector, and even as an enemy.

And even when asking ourselves about the best way to address climate change and minimizing global warming, we are talking about what’s the best way to do this for us—for our economic well-being, our survival, and our lifestyle.

Humans are the ultimate “me, me, me” species.

But perhaps we are asking the wrong questions.

Perhaps we need to ask, how does the Earth see us?
