Many people criticize the efforts by various commercial enterprises developing different approaches for going into space. They say these are just the ego fulfillment of the “billionaire boys club”—a clear demonstration of equity imbalance.

If you see these efforts (and perhaps the rest of the world) from a purely economic lens—where people are just numbers, or numbers upon numbers—then perhaps you are right. A utilitarian would judge these efforts with contempt.

However, if you see these efforts from a spiritual lens—where you recognize that changing one person’s perspective, one person’s soul, can change the world—then it at least raises the possibility that these ventures can be seen as wonderful (“wonder full”) journeys.

Every human experience need not be judged in dollars.
