“Foamy tides erase

My legacy of footprints.

Was I ever here?”

This is an example of a nicely crafted haiku, taken from the article “How to Write a Powerful Haiku”.

Haiku is a powerful form of poetry, with the structural rule of three unrhymed lines of 5-7-5 syllables respectively.

Does this rule limit haiku?

Yes, but it’s also these structural limitations which gives haiku its power.

That’s how I would suggest you approach a tweet.

Embrace a tweet’s restrictions ( tweet length, tweet video length, etc ) as its strength, not its weakness.

Approach it as a creative endeavor.
