Seth Godin, one of my online writing role models, was once asked why he wasn’t an active tweeter. He replied—and I am paraphrasing here—that he didn’t feel he had the time to develop the skills to do it with excellence.
Two points:
First, he prioritizes his creative efforts.
Second, he recognizes tweeting can be done well.
Over the next two months, I’m going to give my Twitter platform a re-think, and I’ll consider either downgrading it or upgrading it; either use it as a strictly mechanical application (as Seth does) or strive for tweeting excellence.
It’s OK to change.
