Last week I nearly did something I try my best not to do.
Tweeting angry.
I’ve done it before, “calling out” a company who had an employee who was rude to my wife, and I still—years later— feel guilty about it.
(Why guilty? Because I had momentarily forgotten something very important: sometimes people are just having bad days…give them a break).
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think there is anything specifically wrong with being angry; it’s an important part of the human experience, and when justified, I think it’s a necessary part of the human experience.
In fact, being angry over the right thing, at the right time, and channeled in the right way, may be one of the healthiest of human emotions.
But—and speaking for myself only—putting my anger out there on a social media platform makes me sick inside, and in some small but real way, I believe it damages my soul.
