The challenge with using wearable technology to improve your health isn’t the type of data it extracts.  Such information as step frequency and sleep duration are associated with your health.

It isn’t in the amount of data it extracts.  I probably already have millions of data points in my FitBit account.

It isn’t in the quality of information.  For health purposes, does it really matter if my calorie count is off 50 calories or whether it took my 8 minutes or 10 minutes to fall asleep? Of course not.

It isn’t any of these.

The real challenge is this: Does the information extracted from your wearable device, and the knowledge processed in the backend from that information, actually change your day-to-day behavior?

Right now that is an open question.
