Where does the magic of my good writing come from?

Well, in the picture above, do you see the wand on the chair?

That’s Hermione Granger’s wand. It’s made from vine wood, and has a dragon heartstring core. Hermione used it to master the Levitation Charm in her first year; she also used it to produce a corporeal Patronus in the form of an otter at the age of sixteen. That’s powerful magic!

Well, my writing—my good writing—doesn’t come from that wand, nor any other magical device. Rather, it comes from the chair it’s laying on, because that is the chair I sit on every day and write lots of stuff—the bad, the average, and the good.

There is no magic to good writing. There is just the habit of writing and the intent to improve. Eventually the good stuff will occasionally happen.
